PRESS RELEASE

GASPI Honored as Co-Chair at Riyadh Chamber of Commerce Annual Ceremony

The Gulf–Africa Strategic Partnership Initiative (GASPI) is honored to have been formally invited by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce to serve as Co-Chair of the Gulf–Africa Strategic Partnership Initiative and to participate in the Chamber’s prestigious Annual Ceremony.

This major event convened over 500 leading business executives from Saudi Arabia and the broader Gulf region, creating a high-level environment for dialogue on investment projects, strategic partnerships, and emerging economic opportunities across key sectors.

The ceremony was held in the distinguished presence of:

  • His Excellency Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce

  • His Excellency Mr. Bandar Al-Khorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources

Their participation underscored the Kingdom’s continued commitment to strengthening international economic cooperation and advancing strategic investment partnerships.

During the ceremony, GASPI Co-Chair Mr. Demba Hydara engaged in several media interviews, where he emphasized the vast business potential and investment opportunities across the African continent. He highlighted the deep historical ties between Africa and the Gulf—connections rooted in shared culture, faith, history, and centuries of trade.

Today, trade between Africa and the Gulf region stands at an estimated USD 80–100 billion annually, driven significantly by the strong engagement of Gulf nations including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. This momentum reflects a rising level of confidence and an expanding landscape of mutual opportunity.

Mr. Hydara also briefed stakeholders on GASPI’s major upcoming engagement:

The Gulf–Africa Summit, scheduled for December 21–27

This landmark event will further strengthen dialogue and foster concrete investment, trade, and development initiatives across African markets.

GASPI extends its gratitude to the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce for the honor and recognition, and to all participating partners who continue to support this transformative Gulf–Africa partnership.
